Before establishing his blog, Brendan was a Marketing Manager across various sectors, including E-commerce, NFTs, Cryptocurrency, Marketing Consultancy, Finance, and E-sports.
He has over six years of experience in the industry as a seasoned Digital Marketer and Data Analyst. His expertise spans across GTM Strategy, Data Tracking & Analytics, Paid Social, Content Marketing, Influencer Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, E-mail Marketing, SEO/SEM, Community Management, Copywriting, Social Media Management, Public Relations, and Content Creation.
His career journey began in Singapore, where he explored internships in Accounting, Private Equity, and Fintech before realizing his passion lay elsewhere. He taught himself content creation and live streaming, inspired by gaming/esports creators. Working flexibly in a luxury watch business, he invested in professional equipment and built a “Fit Gamer” brand, amassing a significant following and sponsorships from major brands.
However, the lack of financial return led him to seek a job in the gaming/esports industry. Starting as an intern at Eliphant, a game marketing agency, he leveraged his personal branding experience to secure the role. He learned professional live production and events marketing, traveling regionally to organize esports events.
Seeking further growth, Brendan joined a friend’s agency focused on First-Person Shooter game events. He produced and hosted an esports podcast, interviewing influential individuals in the Singapore scene. Despite the exciting work, the income was insufficient, leading him to seek a proper-paying job.
Brendan transitioned into a role as a Digital Marketing and Social Media Specialist at PRISM+, Singapore’s largest Smart Home E-commerce brand. From April 2020 to May 2021, he led the marketing initiatives together with is manager for this local startup, driving consistent 7-figure monthly revenues on a 5-figure daily marketing budget within a compact team of five. His strategic prowess was distinctly showcased in the successful execution of a major product launch for the new E-series Smart TVs, which impressively yielded 7-figures on launch day.
In pursuit of a remote role offering flexible hours, Brendan became part of Yurica Labs, a local e-commerce company specializing in baby products. Concurrently, he assisted in managing the owner’s digital marketing agency. During this period, Brendan also engaged in a variety of side projects, which included managing Instagram pages, exploring dropshipping, offering freelance photography services, and acquiring a Data Science certification.
Brendan’s interest in Web 3.0 led him to a contract role as a marketing manager at RedKiteNFT, a fine art NFT marketplace. He implemented the GTM marketing strategy, worked with international artists, and managed various responsibilities. He then joined NEX10 Labs, a blockchain development company, to execute the GTM strategy for various PFT NFT projects and a new Metaverse PVP game, 3VERSE.
His journey led him to relocate to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to take over his father-in-law’s luxury lighting business, marking a new chapter in his diverse career.
Brendan received his Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Finance from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.
He also has a Data Science certification from Le Wagon.
