18 Best Affiliate Networks in 2024 (Ranked and Reviewed)

Updated on January 15, 2024

Searching for the best affiliate networks to join?

There’s a lot to choose from… so it’s normal to feel overwhelmed by choices.

But there’s good news…

I researched for you.

I’ve rounded up 18 of the best affiliate networks for 2024 and broken down their unique offerings.

I also share some useful tips on choosing the best network for you.

What Is an Affiliate Network?

Affiliate networks (or affiliate platforms) are marketplaces that act as intermediaries between affiliates and merchants.

These platforms make it easy for you to find individual affiliate programs rather than sourcing them yourself.

They provide:

  • Tracking technology
  • Reporting tools
  • Payment processing

And when you start affiliate marketing…

Use them because it makes the entire process frictionless.

How Do Affiliate Networks Work?

An affiliate network connects publishers (you) with merchants to promote products and services.

There are three main players in the network:

  • Publishers (You)
  • Merchants
  • Customers

To get started…

You must sign up with the network to access their programs… which require promoting your chosen merchants’ products and services.

How?

Simply insert affiliate links to your affiliate marketing content.

The affiliate platform tracks these links to know when a customer clicks or buys something through them.

They may house thousands of programs across various affiliate marketing niches

And can also specialize in only one type of product.

You usually earn commissions on every purchase… but you can also earn through:

  • Revenue sharing: You share a percentage of earnings with the merchant.
  • Pay per action: You earn when your customer does specific actions that meet the merchant’s requirements.
  • Recurring commissions: You earn through recurring fees. This is prevalent in subscription-based products and services.
  • Performance-based commissions: Some affiliate networks offer bonuses to high-performing affiliates.
  • Multi-tier commissions: You earn a commission from the sales or referrals of the affiliates you’ve recruited. This commission is added to your standard earnings.

Most affiliate networks offer multiple payment options.

Common ones include:

  • Direct deposits
  • Wire transfers
  • Online wallets such as PayPal and Payoneer

Some even offer cryptocurrency payments.

Here’s the catch.

They often require you to meet a minimum payout amount before you can get your earnings.

If the minimum requirement is $100… you have to earn $100 first before you can process your payout.

How long does it take to receive payments?

This varies from network to network.

Some require a lock-in period lasting from a week to as long as three months.

But the good news is some of the affiliate networks we discuss here offer instant payments (provided you meet their minimum payout requirement).

Why Should You Join an Affiliate Network?

If I haven’t convinced you to join an affiliate network…

Here are some excellent reasons:

Enjoy Little to No Cost

Joining an affiliate network typically requires little to no fees… so getting started is a breeze.

The ongoing costs are also easy to manage because merchants typically provide marketing and creative assets you can use to promote their products and services.

Acquire Targeted Traffic

You handpick the programs and products you want to promote… which means the traffic coming to your own platform is highly targeted.

This lets you build a community around your content and products… which helps your credibility with merchants as an affiliate marketer.

Easy Tracking and Reporting

Affiliate marketing networks gives you access to analytic tools and services that give insights into your campaigns from a single dashboard.

And trust me when I say tracking individual programs outside of a network is a pain.

Imagine logging into each program and tabulating the affiliate commissions and other data in a spreadsheet manually.

It’s a nightmare.

How To Choose an Affiliate Network?

How do you know if you’ve found the right affiliate network?

The key is to join networks with programs that truly interest you… and then consider the following factors:

  • Find a niche and target audience: Some networks focus on physical and digital products… while others specialize in just one type. Determine where you want to specialize in… and research your target audience and their interests.
  • Research the programs: Research the networks’ programs that align with your niche and their requirements. Many require a solid traffic source… while others let you do affiliate marketing without a website
  • Check their reputation: The affiliate network should have longevity and a good market reputation. Look for reviews and testimonials to get a grip on their track record.
  • Study their commission structure: Compare each network’s commission rates and decide what structure works best for you. Do you like one-time payments better than recurring commissions?
  • Find affiliate tools and resources: Many affiliate networks provide marketing tools that help you promote products easily. These tools may include banners and reporting dashboards. They may be a great addition to existing tools, such as autoresponders for affiliate marketing.
  • Review payment terms and schedule: Decide whether the networks’ minimum payout requirement and payment schedule are convenient. Take note of their lock-in times and available payment methods.
  • Other considerations: Consider other important factors, such as cookie durations and tracking features. These may be minor, but they greatly impact your affiliate campaigns’ success.

Evaluating each of these may take time… but it’s worth it. You’ll find the best affiliate networks for your needs.

Affiliate Networks (FAQs)

How Many Affiliate Networks Are There?

Countless affiliate networks are available in the market… but only a brunch of them stand out in terms of product selection and commission rates. Nonetheless: you can choose from around 11,400 affiliate programs in the US alone.

What Is the Largest Affiliate Network?

ShareASale accounts for 49% of the total number of affiliate programs in the US. That’s around 5,594 programs.

Meanwhile… Amazon Associate is the most well-known name program for many affiliates. It’s also the easiest to join since all you need is a website or a blog.

How Do Affiliate Networks Make Money?

Affiliate networks usually earn through commission-based fees whenever a customer does a specific action.

Some networks share revenue with you every time you earn a commission.

Networks can also earn by charging setup and subscription fees for using their platform and services.

To Sum Up

So… which of these affiliate platforms and networks captured your attention?

When starting affiliate marketing, use a network because it makes the process way easier.

I’d recommend going for ShareaSale because it has the largest number of programs.

But if you are selecting one yourself, always consider:

  • Your niche
  • Target audience
  • Program availability
  • Commission structures
  • Reputation

Just note that many popular affiliate marketing programs are not found in these networks.

They prefer to manage it themselves.

Good luck!
